In the 2022 season, alongside domestic tournaments like VCS Spring 2022 and Summer 2022, the Vietnamese League of Legends community is also looking forward to SEA Games 31 and the Asian Games 2022. Specifically for SEA Games 31, League of Legends presents an opportunity for the Vietnamese sports delegation to win a gold medal as VCS is considered one of the strongest regions in Southeast Asia.

Yesterday, January 20, Garena officially announced the selection process for the team that will represent Vietnam in League of Legends at the upcoming SEA Games 31. Specifically, instead of selecting a Dream Team from the best players of VCS teams or the champion of VCS Spring 2022, this time, the opportunity is open to all League of Legends teams, big and small, across the country. There will be a registration round for all teams and a selection round for eligible teams.

Thus, it is not necessary to be a professional team or currently competing in VCS A; even mid-tier and small teams have a chance to become representatives of Vietnam at the upcoming SEA Games 31. Moreover, with the organization of this selection round, teams like GAM Esports and CERBERUS Esports are also not 100% guaranteed to represent Vietnam at SEA Games 31. Just one misstep in critical moments could cost them the opportunity.

The upcoming selection round will be highly competitive and VCS teams will need to calculate their strategies carefully. In addition to SEA Games 31, teams will also have MSI 2022 to consider. Each tournament holds significant importance, and certainly, all teams will strive for the best performance once they represent Vietnam’s League of Legends and the country on the international stage.
