On the Same Day, the T1 ‘Uncle – Nephew’ Duo Sets a Massive Record

T1 at the 2025 World Championship Helps Faker – Gumayusi Set a New Record

After the first game in the “do-or-die” match against DK, many T1 fans might have envisioned the worst scenarios. Notably, the first half of game 2 was no better as T1 continued to let DK dominate. However, the brilliant performances from Oner and his teammates, along with DK’s mistakes, allowed T1 to become the fourth LCK team to officially qualify for China.

T1 has completed another critical mission

T1 has completed another critical mission.

With their participation in the 2025 World Championship, Faker and Gumayusi have also set a new record together. Accordingly, Faker will have participated in the World Championship 10 times throughout his career, becoming the player with the most appearances in the biggest tournament in the League of Legends scene. In his 9 previous appearances, Faker has brought home 5 championships and successfully defended the World Championship title twice—a feat that perhaps will never be matched until League of Legends ceases to exist.

A teammate and also Faker’s “nephew,” Gumayusi, has also reached a new milestone. He becomes the only AD Carry in League of Legends history to have 5 consecutive World Championship appearances. This is an achievement that is likely to be difficult for anyone to replicate. Gumayusi’s rival AD Carries in the LCK, Viper and Ruler, will not be present in this competition for the years 2023 and 2024.

More Great Achievements Await T1

Although the seed position has yet to be determined, T1 has made it to the World Championship, and both the players and their fans have reasons to be hopeful. First and foremost, T1 needs to overcome Gen.G to secure a spot in the group stage instead of stretching themselves to play another BO5 against an LPL representative. Additionally, a victory over Gen.G could help T1 maintain their ambition for the LCK title this year.

T1 can definitely achieve even better results

T1 can definitely achieve even better results.

However, Gen.G is not a weak opponent. The win against DK still revealed many flaws, and T1 cannot be complacent. Gen.G is much stronger and more focused than DK, so T1 will have a hard time turning the game around like they did in game 2 if they happen to lose control of the match to their opponent.
