Former World Champion Admits Uncertain Future After Loss to T1
In a “do or die” match against T1 recently, DK “fell” with a score of 1-3, thus ending their hopes of participating in the upcoming World Championship 2025. DK’s domestic season is also considered over, and soon, they might only participate in the ASI – a newly emerging tournament that is being viewed as the “C2 Cup of League of Legends.” However, for BeryL – the only Support player to win the World Championship with two different teams, the future is incredibly uncertain.
BeryL may be nearing the end of his League of Legends career.
Accordingly, BeryL shared after the match: “This can be seen as the last match of the season. There were moments when DK seemed to be able to win; I was really happy after winning game 1, but we couldn’t capitalize on it. The time left until the end of the year is not much. Next year, I can’t predict anything. But I will still try my best.”
The Loss to T1 May Be the Conclusion for the Former World Champion
Among the remaining players competing in the LCK, BeryL can also be considered a “veteran.” He was born in 1997, just one year younger than Faker. After many years of competition, BeryL has nearly achieved all the glory, from domestic to international. The title he still lacks is perhaps MSI, when DK “fell” to RNG in 2021.
BeryL also admits he has no plans for next year.
At the same time, throughout BeryL’s career journey, especially since he joined Damwon Gaming, later known as DK, T1 has been the team with the most connections. BeryL’s DWG has repeatedly defeated T1 throughout 2021. Then in 2022, BeryL’s DRX also defeated T1 strongly in the surprising World Championship finals that year. The journey of the “Blue Dragon” that year is still recounted as a fairytale story in the League of Legends community.
BeryL’s career is filled with ups and downs and many “connections” with T1.
If BeryL’s journey with League of Legends must come to an end after 2025, it will be a regret but also the best ending for the once-genius Support that the League of Legends community has ever witnessed.
