MVKE Star Reveals the Critical Reason Behind the Team’s Defeat in the “VCS Derby”
The VCS derby at the LCP 2025 Mid-Seasons unfolded with results beyond the expectations of many Vietnamese League of Legends fans. Instead of a fierce battle, both games followed the same script: a back-and-forth struggle in the early minutes, TSW unexpectedly rallied while MVKE made mistakes, culminating in a devastating defeat for the “Secret Whale”. In fact, TSW even dominated MVKE from the start of the second game.

With this victory, TSW continues to maintain its position in the top of the LCP 2025 Mid-Seasons standings as of now. Meanwhile, the defeat pushed MVKE down to the mid-table position. Although they have not lost the chance to compete for playoff spots and a ticket to MSI 2025, it is clear that the upcoming journey for SofM and his teammates will be very challenging. Notably, in the next week of competition, MVKE will face GAM Esports in another VCS derby.
However, aside from the forgettable performance, according to Kati – the Mid Laner of MVKE, the key to the defeat lies in the team’s communication: “I feel that the team has not really connected in terms of communication since the beginning of Mid-Seasons 2025. This is also the reason that I believe is crucial for our team’s less-than-optimal performance. MVKE needs to sit down and fix our mistakes immediately.”

The Current Situation Remains Uncertain for VCS
Among the 3 teams participating in the LCP 2025 Mid-Seasons, only TSW is showing impressive performance and noticeable progress. Meanwhile, MVKE seems to have stagnated, and GAM has yet to face any truly challenging opponents. MVKE will be the first “tough” name to test the resolve of the “king” of VCS.

Therefore, it is still too early to say anything definitively about the future of the 3 VCS teams. However, if they maintain good performance, or at least do not fall too far behind, the possibility that all 3 representatives of Vietnamese League of Legends will make it to the Mid-Seasons playoffs is quite feasible, thereby opening up further opportunities for VCS to compete for a spot at MSI 2025 against strong rivals from the competitive PCS region.
