Dominant Victory but Gen.G Reveals Clear Weakness, Chovy Admits Bitter Truth

Despite being on an unbeaten streak in LCK, Chovy and his teammates at Gen.G still expose concerning weaknesses.

Gen.G Accidentally Reveals “Weakness” Despite Winning

As of now, Gen.G can be considered a frightening winning machine in the LCK Regular Season, boasting an unbeaten record. After defeating BFX with a score of 2-0 on May 10, Gen.G has secured a remarkable 12 consecutive wins in the current group stage of the LCK. Even more alarming, most of this team’s matches have ended with a 2-0 result, and Gen.G has only lost a total of 3 games out of their last 12 victories.

Gen.G recently extended their unbeaten streak in the LCK Regular Season to 12.

However, this achievement does not mask the fact that Gen.G still has several weaknesses in their gameplay. Even in their recent victory over BFX, Gen.G had numerous advantages early in the game but failed to capitalize on them fully, creating opportunities for their opponents to make a comeback. Chovy himself admitted in a post-match interview that Gen.G is currently revealing a “weakness” in their gameplay and needs to address it promptly.

Chovy frankly stated that Gen.G played poorly in game 1 against BFX.

“In reality, we made many mistakes in game 1 against BFX and almost paid a heavy price. We had a significant advantage early in the game but played too passively, allowing the opponents to control the match. I think we played very poorly in game 1, letting BFX continuously pick us off in major fights. They capitalized well on our mistakes, and Gen.G almost lost the match. We need to fix this soon to secure a title in the future,” Chovy shared.

Gen.G Struggles to Maintain Unbeaten Streak Without Improvement

Looking back at game 1 against BFX, viewers can see that Gen.G is falling into a pattern of overly mechanical and rigid gameplay. They lack boldness at crucial moments, allowing their opponents to navigate through tough phases and launch powerful counterattacks. Even at the 26th minute of the match, BFX managed to wipe Gen.G clean when Canyon and Chovy made errors in their movements and got caught alone. If BFX had more experience and did not make mistakes in critical fights, Gen.G could have easily lost this game.

BFX even managed to wipe Gen.G despite being significantly behind in gold at the 26th minute.

It is worth noting that in the next two weeks of competition, Gen.G will face two very strong opponents named T1 and HLE. In terms of experience and competitive spirit, these two teams clearly surpass BFX. Therefore, if Gen.G does not quickly address their weaknesses and allow these opponents to create opportunities for a comeback, their unbeaten streak could very well come to an end in the near future.
