Gumayusi Admits His True Feelings About His Time as a Substitute at T1
After three consecutive wins, along with impressive stats like Faker’s pentakill and 2 out of 3 POM awards going to Oner, it can be said that T1 has truly returned to the race for a spot at MSI 2025 and subsequently for the title and Worlds 2025 this season. Recently, Gumayusi opened up officially for the first time about the difficult time he faced when pushed to the bench due to the management’s unclear policies at T1.

Accordingly, despite offering many positive perspectives, Gumayusi could not hide his disappointment at being benched. The T1 marksman admitted: “I felt quite surprised and confused (when competing for the position with Smash). I also thought a lot about it, especially since I was the first to renew my contract with T1 and have been putting in my all during this time. It was truly a very frustrating experience.”
However, everyone has seen that during his time on the bench, Gumayusi continuously ranked up to improve his weaknesses with champions like Ezreal or Kai’Sa. Nevertheless, it wasn’t until the last three matches that he truly regained his rhythm. When unexpectedly substituted in the match against BNK FearX, Gumayusi even found himself outperformed by the opposing marksman, Diable.

Are Gumayusi and T1 Ready to Face Off Against Strong Opponents HLE and Gen.G?
Despite having gone through tough times, both Gumayusi and T1 have overcome a tumultuous phase to regain their cohesion and performance. The maturity in this player’s thoughts also somewhat reflects the determination of the entire T1 team in the upcoming phase of the season.

However, the journey ahead still holds many challenges, as Gen.G and HLE are showing outstanding strength and formidable stability. If T1 wants to return to the top, they cannot afford to be complacent even for a moment, especially in direct confrontations with these two unbeaten teams.
