The T1 – Gen.G match is likely to be the most important match of MSI 2025
Before the T1 – BLG match began, many had assessed that this could be one of the early finals of the tournament. But after T1’s dominant victory, the spotlight shifted to their next match, where they face Gen.G – the only team still maintaining their undefeated streak from the domestic league to the present. Given the current power dynamics, this is likely the true “early final” of MSI 2025.
Both T1 and Gen.G have performed exceptionally well this season, with both teams defeating a strong representative from the LPL. However, compared to the stable Gen.G since the start of the season, T1 has proven to be much more unpredictable. Even T1 fans and experts cannot foresee what form the reigning World Champion will display in the upcoming match. Perhaps it is this unpredictability that makes the matchup between the two teams even more exciting.
In another development, BLG and AL will reenact the Split 2 finals in the loser’s bracket. This season, BLG has lost to AL twice in BO5 matches. This is the last opportunity for both teams at MSI 2025, and there is no room for error. However, based on their performances, AL seems to have a slight edge over BLG both overall and in individual performances.
