Most Criticized Duo in Gen.G After Victory Over T1

The duo was expected to be Gen.G's hope against T1 but ended up doing the opposite.

The match situation of Gen.G against T1 heavily relied on this duo

Recently, Gen.G achieved a crucial victory against T1, becoming the first team to reach the grand final of MSI 2025. This result is well-deserved for Gen.G, but it cannot be denied that T1 also had a strong performance. In fact, they showcased their resilience in game 4, and if it weren’t for some personal haste and a bit more luck, the outcome could have been different. The “contribution” to Gen.G’s challenging day came from the underwhelming performances of Chovy and Canyon.

Chovy made many mistakes and underperformed in the recent match against T1.
Chovy made many mistakes and underperformed in the recent match against T1.

Throughout all 5 games, Chovy’s impact was quite minimal. Even utilizing his signature champion Ahri, Chovy’s performance in game 4 can only be described as disastrous. He failed to make any plays and caused the team to lose an important source of damage in team fights due to being continuously targeted. Except for game 4, the other 4 games could only be assessed as Chovy performing adequately.

As for Canyon, his performances in games 1 and 2 were very good. He even created favorable situations for his lanes in game 3. However, games 4 and 5 saw a lackluster showing from the former 2020 World Champion. If it weren’t for the sharp performances of the duo Ruler – Duro, Canyon might not have secured any buffs in this match.

T1 is good, but Gen.G is even better

T1 had a significant advantage at the beginning of the game, but several overly aggressive plays led to their downfall. However, this match also showcased just how strong T1 is at the moment, and they could certainly secure victories if they played more cautiously.

There are still chances for T1.
There are still chances for T1.

And T1 will have one more chance if they can overcome BLG/AL in the lower bracket final. Meanwhile, Gen.G has shown their capabilities, and regardless of who their opponent is among the remaining 3 teams in MSI 2025, Gen.G will likely not be intimidated. Of course, this is contingent on Chovy regaining his form instead of continuing to deliver performances that only reach an adequate level as seen recently.
