This afternoon, September 5th, the lower bracket finals of the LPL 2021 Worlds Regional Qualifier took place between LNG Esports and Team WE. After 4 games, the Suzhou Unicorns defeated the former LPL champions of 2017 with a score of 3-1, officially becoming the final representative of Chinese League of Legends to secure a spot at Worlds 2021.

This is the first time in their history, including their time as Snake Esports in the LPL, that LNG has earned a ticket to the biggest stage of professional League of Legends. As the 4th seed, LNG will begin their Worlds journey in the Play-In stage. Also participating in this round are notable names from other major regions, such as Hanwha Life Esports (4th seed LCK), Rogue (3rd seed LEC), and Cloud9 (3rd seed LCS).

Worlds 2021 will also witness the reunion of three former stars in the Griffin colors: Tarzan (LNG), Viper (EDG), and Chovy (HLE). Moreover, with all of them participating in the Play-In stage, there is a possibility that Chovy and Tarzan will have a chance to face each other right from the “parking round.”

Currently, apart from VCS, the 22 tickets for Worlds 2021 have all found their owners. With only about a month left until the tournament kicks off, it is highly likely that the fate of the Vietnamese League of Legends region will soon be announced next week.
