LCK Spring 2024 Has Early Results, The Playstyles of Gen.G and T1 Say It All

LCK Spring 2024 may just be a two-horse race between Gen.G and T1, just like the past few years.

For many years, the title competition in the LCK has almost entirely been a game played by T1 and Gen.G. These are also the two representatives that have shown the most stability and strength among all teams in the LCK, at least from 2022 to the present. Perhaps in Summer 2023, KT Rolster managed to somewhat squeeze into this “two-horse race”. However, as they entered the playoffs, the KT players only caused disappointment and had to secure a spot at the 2023 World Championship through the regional qualifiers, despite being the top team in the group stage.

As of now in LCK Spring 2024, the situation has become even more serious as KT, Dplus KIA, and Hanwha Life Esports have had many personnel changes and none of the teams have shown they could contend with Gen.G – T1. However, it is not just that, but the main playstyles of Gen.G and T1 truly demonstrate that they remain the two strongest teams in LCK Spring 2024.

According to statistics, Gen.G is currently the “king of Dragon control” in LCK Spring 2024. Specifically, Gen.G has slain an average of 3.21 dragons per game. Additionally, Gen.G has a significant lead over KT Rolster (2.63), the second team focused on Dragon objectives. The dragon kill rate is also the highest at 74.6%. Moreover, Gen.G has the most kills, averaging 16 kills per game. It can be said that Gen.G is dominating one of the two strongest buffs in League of Legends currently. At the same time, Gen.G is also the only team maintaining a 100% unbeaten record.

But for the other buff – Baron, it is dominated by T1. As mentioned, T1 averages 1 Baron hunt per game. This means T1 will definitely kill Baron at least once each game. Following them is Gen.G (0.93 times) and Guangdong Freecs (0.85 times). The Baron acquisition rate is also the highest at 87.5%. For T1, they focus more on Baron and place a higher value on this buff. T1 has also demonstrated the strength of the Void Rifts and Baron by taking down Gen.G’s outer turret with just 6 Void Rifts (without Baron).

With both of the strongest buffs dominated by the two mightiest teams in the LCK, it shows that they are truly strong in controlling elements that can benefit their gameplay. At the same time, Gen.G and T1 also demonstrate a consistent strategy compared to all other teams, focusing on maximizing their tactics in each match to achieve the ultimate victory.
