KT has a “record” to forget after losing to T1

Typically, matches between T1 and KT are filled with many talking points, and fans eagerly anticipate the performances of two teams with a long history of rivalry from their “telecom wars.” However, recently, KT truly disappointed their fans by losing to T1 in a lackluster manner. In fact, during the second game, even though they secured some kills (mostly due to T1 players being overly aggressive or caught out by KT’s numbers), KT still set a “record” that no team has achieved this year: becoming the first team this season to finish two consecutive games without taking a single turret from T1.

Specifically, in both games, across all three lanes, all KT managed to secure were 3 Voidlings in the first game (and 2 Voidlings in the second) along with a total of 16 kills after both games. On the other hand, they lost everything from Rift Herald, Dragon to turrets without ever trading anything with T1. In fact, the kill count might have been even lower if Faker hadn’t been ambushed by all four T1 members or if Doran and Gumayusi hadn’t tried to secure kills while attacking KT’s nexus.

Specifically in LCK 2025 Rounds 3-5, KT has just become the team with the poorest performance. Even DNF and DRX—teams at the bottom of the standings—have not had a game where they didn’t secure at least one turret from their opponents.

T1 and KT are truly two contrasting extremes

While T1 maintains good form, KT is incredibly inconsistent, and the prospect of Bdd and his teammates reaching Worlds seems increasingly distant. Besides the trio of Gen.G, T1, and HLE who have all but secured their spots, KT must also compete with DK—a name that is also inconsistent but at least can provide more reliability than Bdd and his teammates.

The “telecom war” in the first leg of Rounds 3-5 of LCK 2025 witnessed KT’s weakness while T1 soared. If KT does not improve soon, Bdd will continue to prolong his regrets.
