KT is More Annoying to Gen.G than T1
In the first week of the LCK Regular Seasons 2026, one of the most surprising results was KT’s victory over Gen.G. The reigning LCK champion barely had a chance to fight back. Notably, this win by the 2025 World Championship runner-up has made them the team that has defeated Gen.G the most in recent years, turning KT into a team that is unpredictable but could be the “kryptonite” of the reigning LCK champion.

Specifically, in the last 4 losses of Gen.G, including the World Championship and First Stand 2026, 3 of those losses were inflicted by KT. It can be said that the team known as the “roller coaster” always seems to find a way to counter Gen.G whenever this team is at its most confident. Notably, in the playoff match in the second round of the LCK last year and recently, in the opening week of this year’s Regular Seasons.
At the same time, KT’s victory also “shut down” Gen.G’s streak of 11 consecutive wins across all BO3 and BO5 matches within the LCK. Not only did it bring Gen.G back down to earth, but it also allowed KT to finish the first week of the LCK Regular Seasons 2026 with a perfect record. Remarkably, this is the first time since Summer 2023 that KT has managed to win against both Gen.G and KT in the first round of the LCK group stage of a season.

But KT Shouldn’t Be Complacent as Gen.G Shows Signs of a Comeback
Despite the surprising loss to KT, Gen.G managed to secure a victory, allowing them to finish the opening week of the new season on an acceptable note. And once Gen.G truly makes a comeback, KT should be cautious as Gen.G is eager to avenge their loss and reclaim their top spot.
