At the recent MSI 2024, Gen.G was a deserving champion after defeating Bilibili Gaming in the grand finals. Notably, throughout their journey, Gen.G demonstrated just how powerful they were compared to their opponents. Even a formidable name like BLG couldn’t challenge Gen.G. In fact, in both matches, the players of Gen.G showed they were completely superior to their rivals, finishing the matches with a significant score gap. However, after securing the championship, the new MSI champions have had a rather… “disheartening” fate.

Firstly, just a few days ago, the League of Legends community discovered that the LCK organizers or Riot had not made any substantial moves to celebrate Gen.G’s championship. In Riot’s client, they still used images of Gen.G from the previous Spring LCK to commemorate the MSI victory. Meanwhile, the LCK organizers have been completely silent, not making any appropriate congratulatory activities despite Gen.G being the first LCK team to bring home the MSI championship for Korea since SKT T1 in 2017.

But a recent move has made many Gen.G fans and neutrals even more upset. As per usual, Riot has a mechanism to display the logo of the champion teams of its international tournaments in-game for a certain period to honor the champions. However, in Gen.G’s case, according to community reports, it is now patch 14.11, and there is still no sign of this logo.

Many players, after discovering this, also confirmed that Riot is somewhat “neglecting” the MSI 2024 champions, even though this victory holds great significance for both the region and the team. One opinion candidly stated: “The slogan of MSI 2024 is The Unknown, and it seems Riot is indeed planning to turn Gen.G into The Unknown.”

!['I genuinely don't understand what Riot is doing anymore. It feels like Gen.G isn't getting any attention on the main launcher page while the Hall of Legends is prioritized right after MSI. Even MSI didn't have a Moments & Memories video (even though MSI videos are generally not great). Not to mention they [Gen.G] haven't been included in any in-game activities like other MSI champions. This is truly irresponsible business.'](https://esportpulse.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/geng-msi2024-riot-5-17172125560412046945607.png)

As for Riot and the LCK organizers, they have yet to make any statements regarding the incident. Not long ago, the CEO of Gen.G also spoke out about the lack of proper attention given to their historic championship. The continued silence from Riot or the LCK organizers can only serve to further frustrate the community.
