Only a few days remain until the League of Legends event at SEA Games 31 officially kicks off. Representing Vietnam this time is GAM Esports – the team that achieved an unbeaten record in the VCS Spring 2022 and claimed the championship title. With the players at their peak performance, the gold medal is well within reach for the boys in yellow and black if they put in the effort and maintain 100% focus.

On the morning of May 17 (Vietnam time), GAM set off for Hanoi to prepare for their three days of intense competition. Although there are hardly any teams in Southeast Asia that can be considered equal competitors to Vietnam, the GAM players still bear a lot of pressure from the expectations of local fans. Moreover, winning is not enough; GAM must also prove VCS’s standing in the Southeast Asian League of Legends scene with the most convincing results.

In the post announcing the players’ departure, numerous well-wishes from fans were directed towards the reigning VCS Spring 2022 champions. Most believe that GAM will not face too many difficulties in securing the gold medal, but they also hope the players will stay focused.

Some other comments pointed out Kati’s striking outfit as well as the attractive jerseys of the Vietnamese League of Legends team.

In this SEA Games 31, GAM will be in the same group as Malaysia and Laos. Although these opponents cannot be considered strong contenders against Vietnam, the lack of information about them could pose a significant challenge. However, as mentioned, if they compete with maximum focus, GAM can easily advance past this group stage.
The opening match for the Vietnamese League of Legends team will be against Malaysia, taking place at 10 AM on May 20. The group stage will follow a round-robin format, with each match being a BO1. After that, the two strongest teams from each group will compete in the semifinals on May 21. The final and the bronze medal match will take place on the last day, May 22.
