G2 Achieves a Miracle at First Stand 2026
In the lower bracket match of First Stand 2026, G2 faced a very “tough” opponent at the moment, who could even be considered the “dark horse” BNK. Previously, G2 suffered a dismal defeat against BLG, which raised doubts about the LEC champions within the League of Legends community. However, overcoming all challenges, G2 not only won but did so with a clean 3-0 victory to continue their journey at First Stand 2026, making history for LEC once again.

Accordingly, after 1979 days (over 5 years), it is the first time a team from LEC has been able to defeat a representative from LCK in a BO5 at an international tournament. Coincidentally, both times, G2 has been the team to achieve this historic milestone. In the previous instance, their victory was against Gen.G. At that time, Gen.G also had many talented players (Bdd, Ruler, Clid…) but compared to now, they are still “worlds apart”. Nevertheless, G2’s victory back then was incredibly glorious, and it’s easy to understand why during the period from 2019 to 2021, G2 was still a top-tier team in the world of League of Legends.
Returning to First Stand 2026, G2’s 3-0 win over BNK truly surprised many. This is because G2 had just suffered a disgraceful defeat against BLG while BNK was being hailed as the “dark horse” of the tournament. But with experience and determination, the “Kings of Europe” brought BNK back down to earth, making them realize how inexperienced they are on the international stage.

G2 Continues to Show Unpredictability at First Stand 2026
There is no denying the fact that over the years, G2 has not been in the same position as they were during the 2019 – 2021 period. However, that should not lead to underestimating this team, as they still possess key players capable of making a difference, as demonstrated by their victory over BNK. Even Gen.G cannot be complacent, but perhaps, for the current LCK champions, G2 will find it difficult to create another tremor.
