The Most Disappointing Player from Gen.G
Entering the match against Gen.G, even the most optimistic fans of the LEC representative probably couldn’t believe their team would win with a score of 3-0. But everyone was mistaken as G2 played increasingly better and even didn’t hesitate to use unconventional champion picks. The sweet fruit was reserved for the “Kings of Europe” while the reigning LCK Cup 2026 champions left the tournament in shock with a staggering defeat. Within Gen.G’s lineup, all five players and the coaching staff made mistakes, but Chovy was perhaps the name that left the audience both confused and disappointed.

In all three games, not only did Chovy lose to Caps in the laning phase, but he also had minimal impact or influence on the game during skirmishes later on. Even when using Azir, Chovy couldn’t execute the familiar Shurima Shuffle to turn the tide. Meanwhile, a Caps on the other side, who has been on the decline in his career right at First Stand 2026, also made Chovy feel “suffocated”.
And as always, the familiar image of Chovy when he faces difficulties is that he will actively farm to make up for his losses in minion count. But G2 did not allow Chovy much space, constantly attacking his teammates. Thus, the defeat for Gen.G came as a consequence when their key players were all “off”.

Gen.G “self-destructed” before being “destroyed” by G2
G2’s victory was, of course, incredibly glorious and beautiful. They executed every move perfectly, and perhaps only the skirmish at the end of game 1 was the only blemish when Duro moved too “brain-twisting”. However, Gen.G themselves did not play up to their potential, and perhaps only Duro truly gave the impression that he was putting in the effort.

Of course, ahead of Gen.G still lie many titles to conquer. But the LCK Cup 2026 will be a “slap” to this team to understand one thing: no matter how strong they are, on a day when they lose themselves, they can completely lose in the most forgettable way.
