Renowned VCS female streamer Mina Young checks in with Faker standees
In the professional League of Legends scene, the issue of image rights for players and teams is just as important as in other mainstream sports. The larger the fan base and media presence of a team, the more they pay attention to this issue, exemplified by T1 with Faker’s image. However, recently, the famous VCS female streamer – Mina Young has made a move that can be considered a significant misstep regarding the image of the “G.O.A.T”.

Specifically, the female streamer posted images of herself checking in with 2 standees of Faker on her personal TikTok channel. Notably, printing Faker’s image specifically and other players’ images in general as standees without T1’s consent has been strictly prohibited by the team for a long time. Even during Viewing Parties or fan meetings in Vietnam or South Korea, no one is allowed to print standees of Faker or any player from this organization without T1’s permission.

As soon as these images were discovered by T1 and Faker fans, they expressed their opposition. Under the clips, there were queries questioning whether the female streamer had asked for T1’s permission, but no response was received.

But perhaps Mina Young did not intentionally violate Faker’s image rights
In reality, the female streamer’s actions likely stem from her affection for Faker and T1. Thus, she may not deserve the heavy criticism she is receiving just for an act that originated from her personal feelings.
Once built with the hope of becoming a leading KOL in the Vietnamese League of Legends scene and Vietnamese Esports in general, the female streamer is currently facing several challenges. Although she has never officially announced her departure from SBTC, it is clear that as she has to “stand on her own feet” more, Mina Young is still struggling.
