Implementing the unpredictable Fearless Draft but Riot still faces setbacks with MSI 2025
One of the standout features of MSI 2025, alongside the BO5 format in the playoffs, is the implementation of the Fearless Draft – a banning and picking mechanism that forces players to potentially play champions that are not optimal and outside their comfort zones. It was thought that this mechanism would bring many new elements and make the MSI 2025 Pick’Ems unpredictable, but Riot has been left “disappointed”. As many as 4222 players reached the Perfect Pick milestone, meaning they will take home all the rewards from Riot for this event.

According to the announcements, the rewards will include Ultimate skins, as well as all the previous tier rewards (ward skins, Hwei Hua Linh Lục Địa skin, emotes, and the MSI 2025 Event Box…). For the Ultimate skins alone, the total RP that a player may have to spend could reach around 350 USD. Thus, with the number of winning players reaching 4222, Riot must spend more than 1.4 million USD (approximately nearly 40 billion VND).

This amount for a large game publisher like Riot, which has additional funding for MSI, Worlds, is not really significant this year. However, it is clear that the predictions for this year’s MSI were still somewhat predictable. This indicates that even with the implementation of Fearless Draft, Riot has not quite achieved the desired results.

After MSI 2025, the community awaits Worlds 2025
With what has happened at MSI 2025, the League of Legends community is now looking forward to the next tournaments, with the focus still being on Worlds 2025. Of course, although Riot has not officially announced, the likelihood that Fearless Draft will continue to be implemented is very high. Therefore, the community also hopes that Riot will have more effective updates and adjustments. Because while the matches remain very exciting, the drafting phase and the outcomes are relatively predictable.
