In T1’s victory against KT Rolster during Week 7 of the LCK Spring 2022 group stage, Faker and his teammates secured a 2-0 win. However, as Faker mentioned in a post-match interview, T1 did not perform well. Moreover, KT was quite challenging and maintained control despite not having much advantage over T1. The individuals on KT also played well, especially rookie VicLa and Aiming.

It can be said that T1 went through very difficult games, at times it seemed like Faker and his teammates could be taken down by KT. Specifically, in game 2, there were moments when KT appeared to seize the initiative and equalize the match. However, stemming from a disastrous teamfight in the Baron area that extended to the Blue Buff, T1 managed to regain some control over the game. Then, Aiming’s Assassin’s Instinct flying straight into the heart of the enemy ended all of KT’s hopes.
The LoL community was also astonished by T1’s teamfight at the Baron pit. Specifically, with Faker taken down earlier and Oner falling as soon as the fight began, T1 faced a 3v4 situation with VicLa also low on health. However, the performance of T1 members, especially Gumayusi and Zeus, was so good that they bought time for Faker to return. Gwen’s recovery ability is incredibly strong, so despite being below half health, Zeus was not taken down. It wasn’t until Kai’Sa unleashed all her skills that Gwen finally fell. Moreover, when Faker returned, KT lost both Life and Cuzz, turning the tide from win to loss.
The skills of Zeus and Gumayusi are unquestionable, but the LoL community suggests that T1 should… thank Riot. The power of the “200-year” Gwen significantly contributed to T1’s successful teamfight.

Additionally, most opinions focused on Aiming’s “self-destruct” Assassin’s Instinct. Many expressed regret as this player performed very well from game 1. But credit must also be given to the T1 team for maintaining control of the match.

The long unbeaten streak has helped T1 secure a playoff spot early and tie the record with SKT T1 from the Summer 2015 season. If they can indeed remain unbeaten throughout the group stage, T1 will become the first team to achieve this in the entire history of professional League of Legends.
