Due to a Small Detail, MSI 2023 Player Rates LPL ‘No Chance’ Against Gen.G, T1

It seems the pressure from LPL teams is not as significant as that from Gen.G and T1.

With the bracket of MSI 2023, the matches between representatives from LPL and LCK will take place quite late. However, these are all matches of great importance, so their excitement will be heightened significantly. For example, the upcoming winners’ bracket final of MSI 2023 will see T1 face off against JD Gaming (JDG).

However, according to comments from player Gori of Golden Guardians (GG), the LCK representatives will show superior performance compared to LPL teams. This player revealed that the lane pressure from teams like JDG and BLG is not truly significant. Therefore, Gori believes that neither JDG nor BLG will have a chance to compete for the championship against T1 and Gen.G at MSI 2023.

“We (GG) are the team that has played against both LPL representatives, and I think the results were better than expected. I once thought GG would be annihilated by JDG or BLG in the first 5 minutes to the point we couldn’t recover. However, they did not create enough pressure on us. Sometimes I even think JDG doesn’t have a chance to compete with Gen.G or T1. LCK teams always create a lot of pressure in scrims” – Gori shared.

Indeed, when watching LPL representatives play, audiences can notice they play quite safely during the laning phase. Teams like JDG or BLG only truly excel against their opponents in terms of team fighting organization. For example, in a recent match between Cloud9 and BLG, the LCS representative managed to take a lead several times in the early game.

Basically, when facing teams perceived to be weaker from LCS, JDG or BLG can defeat their opponents even without winning the lane. However, upcoming opponents like Gen.G or T1 are at a completely different level compared to LCS teams. Hopefully, LPL teams will make reasonable changes to their approach in future matches to advance further in MSI 2023.
