Among the young players currently in the LCK, if we had to mention names with outstanding playstyles, Keria would undoubtedly be one of them. The Support player of T1 is one of the few who has consistently maintained his performance throughout the past period and is the only name that cannot be replaced. Even during Coach Daeny’s continuous roster rotations, Keria’s starting position has always been secured.

With excellent game-reading ability and creativity in champion utilization, Keria has even been described by Coach Daeny as the “Professor of League of Legends.” Not to mention, with his relatively young age, T1 can completely build a new future with Keria as the cornerstone when one day Faker retires from professional play.

In a recent interview with reporter Ashley Kang following their victory over Fredit BRION, Keria also shared insights about his personal changes since his time at DragonX until now, as well as his aspirations for the future.

Keria’s interview response with reporter Ashley Kang

When asked “What do you think is the most noticeable change in yourself between Spring and Summer?”, Keria answered very honestly:

“When I was in the Spring Split, even while preparing for the Summer Split, even at the end of last year, when I was looking for a new team, I had the thought that I wanted to become a player who could lead the entire team. I want to be a player who can control my emotions. […] Now I feel better, but a few weeks ago I felt like I was back to my old self. […] Back then, even small things could irritate me. I wasn’t calm anymore and ended up raising my voice. That was the person I used to be, and then I became better. But sometimes, I revert to my old traits, and then I normalize again…”

When asked “What kind of player do you aspire to be the most?”, Keria surprised many with his answer, which was not his legendary senior and current teammate Faker, but rather his former teammate Deft. “I think a good playstyle, like Deft for example? I had experience with a player like Deft last year, so I think I want to become a player like Deft. A type of player who centers the entire team around him. Like when Deft sees anyone who seems to be lagging behind the other members, he prioritizes that person more, cares for them more. A type of player who puts the team’s mind first, gathers and leads the entire team…”

From what he has shared, it is clear that Keria is building himself to become a leading figure, someone who not only elevates himself but also brings the entire team along in improvement. With the qualities he has demonstrated, along with the experience he will gain over time, it is likely that in the not-so-distant future, Keria will become a true leader and even a new icon of League of Legends in Korea and worldwide.
