Wrapping up the recent group stage of the LEC Summer 2021, G2 Esports finished in 2nd place instead of their usual 1st. To prepare for reclaiming the European throne, G2 Esports’ bot laner Rekkles has been undergoing some concerning “secret weapon” practice sessions.
Specifically, over the past 3 days, Rekkles has been diligently trying to use Syndra in the bot lane during solo queue. He’s been pairing Syndra with various support champions like Thresh, Bard, Trundle, Karma, and Yuumi… but the consistent result has been a “faceplant” with 10 consecutive losses.
Currently, the community speculates that Rekkles is practicing this champion according to G2 Esports’ strategy in preparation for the Playoffs. However, with such a “next season’s jackpot” losing streak, fans are quite worried about G2 Esports’ chances of reclaiming the LEC Summer championship.
On the other hand, many believe that the “super marksman” Rekkles is simply a bit bored with traditional marksman champions, so he’s playing Syndra in the bot lane to relieve stress. But hitting such a severe losing streak only increases fans’ concerns about Rekkles being under “heavy stress”.
Regardless of the reason behind it, this Syndra pick is undeniably the cause of Rekkles dropping from Challenger to Grandmaster. His current LP is 795, while the top 200 in Challenger is at 843 LP.
