As one of the greatest players in Swedish CS history and a true legend in the global CS scene, Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson has had a remarkable career that few can match. Over more than 10 years of professional play, he has achieved countless prestigious titles alongside his teammates, particularly winning 2 Major championships: ESL One: Katowice 2015 and ESL One: Cologne 2015. On a personal level, he has been honored as the MVP at LAN tournaments 6 times and has made it to the HLTV’s list of the top 20 players of the year 4 times, including the #1 position in 2015.

In August 2017, Olof moved to FaZe Clan and remained with the organization until recently. Due to a decline in performance attributed to age, Olof gradually transitioned to playing support/lurker to give the star role to teammates like rain and NIKo. Throughout 4 years filled with ups and downs and several breaks from professional play due to health issues, Olof has always been a solid support for his teammates with stable and smart gameplay.
In February 2021, Olofmeister officially said goodbye to FaZe Clan after 4 months of playing as a stand-in for the team. On April 29, Olofmeister unexpectedly held a stream where he answered some fan questions about his future. Specifically, he affirmed that he “really loves the feeling of professional play” and has decided to continue competing. Olof also revealed that right after announcing his departure from FaZe Clan, he received offers to play in CS:GO, but turned them down as he was unsure of what he wanted to do in the future.

“I really love the feeling of professional play. I received a few offers to compete in both games (CS:GO and VALORANT) but turned them down because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do in the future.” – Olofmeister
Regarding rumors about him transitioning to VALORANT, Olofmeister shared that it is entirely possible, but it will depend on the offers he receives in CS:GO.
Known for his intelligent gameplay and excellent game sense, if Olofmeister can regain his competitive motivation, he will undoubtedly be a great addition to teams lacking in the support position. We hope to see Olof compete again soon and earn more glory in the professional scene.
