In the history of the League of Legends (LoL) scene in Vietnam and the world, there are perhaps few cases like VCS Twilight 2023. A team continuously having its match schedule canceled without a specific timeframe to reschedule. The announcements from the tournament organizers have not provided any specific reasons for the cancellations affecting this team. And that team is one of the most popular names in the VCS: SBTC Esports (SE).

Even as prominent figures in the Vietnamese LoL community began to voice their opinions, the audience still does not understand what has happened to the team nicknamed “Pink Chicken.” Currently, while other teams have played at least 3 matches, SE still has only 1 match, which was a loss to GAM Esports. This situation not only affects SE but also all the teams that have had or will have matches scheduled against SE.

Recently, on the official page of this team, SE posted a lengthy article directly addressing the VCS organizers and Riot. In this post, the team stated that they have maintained a commitment to absolute silence regarding the investigation into issues related to the VCS organizers as well as Riot. However, due to the continuous postponement of their matches without clear reasons, SE demands that the relevant authorities promptly reach a final conclusion. According to SE, such cancellations have a severe impact on the team as they are unable to compete but still incur operational costs, including player care… Moreover, SE claims that this situation also affects the team’s image and the tournament in front of sponsors.

SE’s post has attracted significant attention from the VCS community. According to many opinions, SE’s post could be a necessary factor for upcoming official announcements to reach Vietnamese LoL fans sooner. Additionally, with the implications from SE’s co-owner recently, the official news from the VCS organizers is expected to be a major shock, shaking the Vietnamese LoL scene and potentially affecting the international arena as well.
