In recent years, esports has become widely popular and prevalent, yet many still do not recognize it as a mainstream sport. To address this issue, various esports organizers have tirelessly promoted and introduced the sport through mass media such as TV, advertisements, and music videos…

Notably, recently, NetEase, the second-largest gaming company in China, announced a project to build an esports complex in Shanghai with an investment of up to 5 billion yuan (approximately $710 million). According to the announcement, the complex will cover a total area of 151,000 m², including a venue for events with a capacity of around 200 people. Furthermore, surrounding buildings will include laboratories, exhibition centers, office spaces, and residential areas.

It is known that Mr. Ding Lei, the CEO of NetEase, has confirmed that this project will be completed within two years, including both development and construction phases. At the same time, the city of Shanghai has also introduced various supporting policies for this complex, aiming to help China become the country with the strongest esports industry in the world.

Therefore, it is anticipated that the finals of the League of Legends World Championship will be held in Shanghai (China).

Currently, in China, about 80% of events, teams, and organizers are based in Shanghai. Therefore, building an esports complex in this city will facilitate the organization and management of tournaments held here.
