BRO Faces Investigation Demand After Losing to VCS Rising Star
On January 15, the LCK Cup 2025 officially kicked off with a match between BRO and DRX. Notably, the rising star from the VCS – LazyFeel unexpectedly started for DRX due to Teddy facing some personal issues. The young talent born in 2007 seized this rare opportunity to shine in the match against BRO, helping his team secure a thrilling 2-1 victory.

For BRO, fans could sense that the team seemed to have lost the necessary focus after winning game 1. In games 2 and especially game 3, BRO had moments where they took the lead or secured important objectives, but their overconfidence cost them dearly. Especially in game 3, when BRO held both critical factors for victory, the Power Spike and the Atakhan objective, they still allowed DRX to make a comeback.

Therefore, after the match concluded, many fans (especially from the LPL region) voiced their suspicions that BRO had “thrown the game.” They argued that for a professional team playing in the LCK, losing while having both the Power Spike and the Atakhan is unacceptable. Some players even called for Riot and the tournament organizers to investigate the recent match to clarify these suspicions.

After the defeat against the VCS rising star, BRO faces the risk of early elimination
It’s important to note that during the end of 2024, the LPL faced another negative “scandal” that led to six players in the secondary league LDL being banned. Perhaps because of this, the trust of LPL fans in the “integrity” of teams has significantly decreased. Therefore, when they witnessed BRO playing carelessly and throwing away a massive advantage, their suspicions are understandable.

Additionally, this recent defeat also somewhat reflects BRO’s relatively poor performance at this time. Clearly, in the context where top teams are strengthening through transfers, their direct opponent DRX is soaring high thanks to Lazyfeel’s brilliance, placing BRO in a very difficult situation. They could even find themselves at the bottom of the Baron table and be early eliminated from the LCK Cup 2025 if they continue to deliver poor performances like they did recently.
