In recent days, the top concern of the League of Legends community has undoubtedly been the ranking situation of the players set to participate in the 2021 Worlds. It seems that after a few days acclimating to Iceland, players from the LCK region have begun to accelerate and showcase their impressive ranking abilities. Notably among them are Canyon from DWG KIA and Oner from T1.

Specifically, these two players are the first from the LCK region to achieve Grandmaster rank on the EU server. Canyon currently holds 773 rank points with a win rate of 78.4%. Just behind Canyon is Oner, who also reached Grandmaster rank with 587 rank points and a win rate of 70.7%.

Looking at the match history of these two players, we can see that they both utilize champions with high mobility and engage early. Champions like Lee Sin, Taliyah, Talon, and Qiyana are their go-to picks for climbing the ranks. Perhaps Canyon and Oner realize that early ganks and creating snowball situations are the best ways to secure victories in solo queue.

For DWG KIA, the ranking progress of its members is quite the opposite. As mentioned above, Canyon is currently at Grandmaster rank, and with 773 rank points, it’s only a matter of time before he reaches Challenger rank. However, DK’s support, BeryL, currently holds the lowest rank among the players participating in the 2021 Worlds, stopping at Platinum I. In fact, BeryL’s last ranked match was two days ago.

Interestingly, unlike the LCK region, the two highest-ranked players in the LPL are both supports. Specifically, Iwandy from LNG Esports is at Master rank with 453 rank points. Just below Iwandy is Crisp from FunPlus Phoenix with only 2 rank points less. It’s likely that these are the two LPL players who will first reach Grandmaster rank on the EU server.

Besides the prominent names mentioned above, players like ShowMaker, Chovy, Viper, and Tian are also demonstrating impressive ranking speeds. It won’t be long before ranked matches at Grandmaster – Challenger level on the EU server become incredibly exciting with the participation of the world’s top players.
