T1 Continues to Face a Future Issue
At this moment, the League of Legends community is focused on MSI 2025 with intense matches, and there have already been 3 games that extended to game 5 with the harsh Fearless Draft bans and picks. However, this has not diminished the attention on side information within the League of Legends community, and before the journey at MSI 2025 begins, news has emerged regarding T1’s roster: Player Poby, currently playing in Challengers, might join Fnatic.

Of course, this is a decision that could be beneficial for all parties: Poby gets more opportunities to compete and even potentially reach Worlds, while T1 will receive a certain amount of revenue and also save on Poby’s salary. However, for T1, they will have to revisit a long-standing issue: Who will be trained to replace Faker if one day the “G.O.A.T” retires?

In reality, T1 might recruit a player in the future. But at this moment, there are hardly any viable candidates. Of course, T1 probably hopes for a player who can simply take over Faker’s role as a midlaner. Nonetheless, it will still be very difficult with the limited options available. After all, it must be a star-level player who is capable enough to help T1 compete for titles.
Not to mention, Poby also holds significance: he is one of the few promising names that T1 Academy has been able to develop in recent years. In fact, Poby has also been somewhat hardened psychologically after his brief stint replacing Faker last year. But now, if the information is accurate, T1 is preparing to say goodbye to their “seedling.”

But That Will Only Be T1’s Future Issue
If the rumors surrounding Poby’s future are true, it will be difficult for anyone to stop or change that. And replacing Faker is merely a future issue for this team. However, if Poby truly has to leave, it will still be unfortunate that another promising younger player of Faker must seek a new path while he continues to compete so tirelessly.
