At VCS Winter 2021, CERBERUS Esports claimed their first title since officially participating in the highest-level League of Legends tournament in Vietnam. Alongside names like Yado and Artemis, no one can deny that CES had a strong chance of winning, especially after defeating GAM Esports three times, thanks in no small part to EGO. The former Team Flash star was indeed a crucial factor, making CES’s gameplay much smoother and more effective than before.

But sadly for EGO, just as his career was on the rise and expectations were high, he got embroiled in a scandal with Zeros. These off-field issues are believed to be the reason the 2002-born player has been absent since VCS Spring 2022 began. Even during the SEA Games 31 qualifiers, EGO was also unable to compete. Many sources have confirmed that EGO will return in the second phase of VCS Spring 2022, but so far, everything remains mere speculation.

Recently, a Korean YouTuber specializing in the jungle role unexpectedly posted a status on his YouTube channel stating that he is preparing to join VCS under the CES colors as a professional player. The exact wording of the YouTuber’s post is as follows: “Hello, this is Blue Leish. I will be participating in VCS and joining CES as a professional player. However, I will still be streaming and posting videos regularly. I’m off now. See you all when I arrive in Vietnam and get to the team’s place. Everyone, let’s do our best!”

If this deal comes to fruition, CES will be the first team in VCS history to have two foreign players on their roster. However, CES may still rely on Phuc1 or even EGO for the remainder of Spring 2022, as the YouTuber is unlikely to secure a work permit in Vietnam quickly. Similar to Poss’s case, he also waited a long time to debut in VCS. Moreover, time will be needed for the newcomer to integrate with the CES teammates and for the team to understand the YouTuber’s playstyle.
Additionally, there is almost no information about whether this YouTuber has ever participated in the professional arena or not. And CES has yet to make any official announcement. But with what he has shown on the Korean rank, and if he can adapt to the new team, it’s very possible that this could be a way for CES to consider “Thank you EGO” in the future.
