In the match on March 17th (Vietnam time) during the final week of the LCK Spring 2022 group stage, the highlight match was the showdown between DWG KIA and DRX. These two teams are currently competing for the 3rd place on the LCK Spring 2022 standings. After this match, DK only has to face a weaker Fredit BRION, while DRX will face the “undefeated” T1 in their last group stage match.
However, DK emerged victorious with a 2-0 against a strong-performing DRX. Once again, jungler Canyon showcased his incredible “carrying” ability. In game 1, it was Canyon’s excellent map awareness and game control that allowed ShowMaker and Deokdam to hit their power spikes and gradually take over the game. As for game 2, there’s no need to mention. DK’s absolute domination, led by Canyon on Graves, was like “shooting the world”.
Notably, Canyon not only secured the victory for DK but also set a record in LCK history by becoming the first player to reach 1500 MVP points in just the group stage of an LCK split. This is something that even the “team-carrying kings” like Faker, Deft, or even “The Golden Backbone” Chovy would acknowledge. Furthermore, Canyon also reached the milestone of 800 kills in his career, solely counting his achievements in the LCK.

It can be said that, with his current form, alongside Faker, Canyon is likely the most assured name in the lineup for the Korean team participating in the upcoming 2022 Asian Games. As for DK, while ShowMaker’s performance may fluctuate, his close teammate Canyon continues to perform as he has throughout many seasons, and arguably, he is getting better every day.

Although DK has lost some strength due to reassembling the team and ShowMaker’s inconsistent performance, the playoffs are a different story. In critical situations, if Canyon’s champion mentality shines through, DK will remain a force to be reckoned with that all teams, including the “Undefeated God” T1, must take seriously.
