One thing that is quite easy to notice is that among the 3 gold champions in the current meta, Miss Fortune has a relatively low appearance rate. Many other 3 gold champions, such as Tryndamere, Gangplank, or even Lucian, are often chosen to reroll to 3 stars instead of Miss Fortune. Therefore, some Challenger players have taken advantage of this to develop team compositions around Miss Fortune to leverage this uncontentious factor.

Thus, the Miss Fortune – Marksman composition was born, proving its effectiveness when a player with the ingame name Flufffluff3 successfully “spammed” it to climb to Challenger. So how can one build this composition most effectively in Teamfight Tactics? Let’s find out.
The best start for the Miss Fortune – Marksman team will be to utilize the 3 Mercenary effect and take a losing streak early on. At level 5, when activating additional traits such as Brawler and Marksman, you can completely “hit the jackpot” and rapidly gain strength. If you can’t activate Mercenary early, the advice here is to accept playing with 2 Brawlers – 2 Marksmen to find a way to maintain health in the early game.

In the mid-game, you should continue to apply a steady upgrade strategy, saving gold until level 7. If you can “hit the jackpot” with Mercenary, it’s advisable to drop this trait and add other units to enhance your team’s strength. If you don’t “hit the jackpot” early, you should roll down to around 20-30 gold to upgrade Miss Fortune, Illaoi, and Gangplank to 2 stars to gain Mercenary rewards. You shouldn’t be too greedy about the losing streak at this stage and should “hit the jackpot” as soon as possible, then roll for Miss Fortune 3 stars.

As you approach the late game, you need to complete 4 Marksmen to maximize Miss Fortune’s damage output. In this case, Jhin is a unit worth investing items in (after Miss Fortune) as he provides a huge amount of damage at 2 stars. For the front line, you should use Vi, Sejuani, and even Jayce in melee to activate the 4 Enforcer trait to neutralize the enemy team’s carries.

For core technology choices, the Sniper’s Nest is the best upgrade you can choose as it increases damage significantly for the Marksman units. Additionally, upgrades like Heart and the Marksman Emblem will help you save a spot in the composition and you won’t need to roll for Zeri at the end of the game anymore. Instead, you can add powerful Sorcerer units to pair with Orianna. Moreover, damage and tanking upgrades for the backline are also very suitable for this composition.
In terms of items, Miss Fortune greatly needs the Shojin Spear or Blue Buff combined with a magic damage item, typically Rabadon’s Deathcap. For Jhin, familiar items like Infinity Edge, Giant Slayer, and Oblivion Orb are always top choices. Additionally, support items like Trap Claw and Chalice of Power should be given to Orianna.
