After defeating 16 teams in the qualifiers, the top 8 teams from Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Australia advanced to the finals of the Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship held at Hatten Melaka Hotel (Malaysia) from October 10 to 13, 2024. The team HUNGHUNG & FRIENDS is the only representative from Vietnam present in the decisive round of the tournament, showcasing many beautiful performances to esports enthusiasts across Southeast Asia and Oceania.
The Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship is organized in a new Pro vs. Amateur group stage format, focusing on the game Dota 2. This is an opportunity for aspiring gamers to compete against professional players, creating a dynamic and open playing environment that meets the diverse needs of both professional and amateur gamers.

Hello, can you introduce yourself a bit?
Hello everyone, I am Hùng Hùng, a member of the team HUNGHUNG & FRIENDS, and I am participating in the Odyssey Cup Dota 2 2024 organized by Samsung.
How do you feel about the finals of the tournament?
HUNGHUNG & FRIENDS is very proud to be one of the best teams that reached the final round in Malaysia of the Odyssey Cup Dota 2. However, it is somewhat disappointing that our team had to stop quite early. Nevertheless, we played our best and are very happy to meet and interact with gamers who share the same passion from many countries.
What was the biggest challenge you faced when participating in the Odyssey Cup Dota 2?
The biggest challenge is probably time management. The team members haven’t had many opportunities for real combat, and I personally have not been performing as well as when I play at home.
What is the key point in the strategy of HUNGHUNG & FRIENDS?
HUNGHUNG & FRIENDS aims to use a flexible playstyle, adapting to the opponent’s gameplay to choose effective defense and attack strategies.
What is your top priority when using a gaming monitor?
It is smoothness; it definitely has to be smooth. Professional gaming requires flexible and decisive moves without lag. Additionally, I also prefer screens that do not cause eye strain or excessive heat so that I can comfortably “grind” for long periods.
How do you feel about the gaming experience on the Samsung Odyssey OLED screen?
Very good, Samsung is always smooth, with extremely fast response times, no lag during gaming, and the screen is very smooth, not generating much heat even after long play sessions. This is definitely a dream monitor for gamers like me.
Do you feel pressure when competing in front of a large audience and against professional opponents?
Personally, my team and I approach the Odyssey Cup Dota 2 with the spirit of learning first and meeting and interacting with friends from other countries, so we don’t put too much pressure on ourselves.
What are your future plans after the tournament?
After the Odyssey Cup Dota 2, my team members and I will seek opportunities to train and improve our skills with various teams, with higher demands. The experiences gained in this tournament will definitely be valuable assets for our members in their journey to conquer other upcoming tournaments.
