SofM Officially Takes on New Role
On the afternoon of October 24, Lê “SofM” Quang Duy – former Jungle player of Suning and Weibo Gaming, was officially appointed as a Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Recreational Esports Association for the IV term (2024 – 2029). This can be considered a great honor for Vietnamese Esports in general and SofM in particular. The coach and co-owner of Vikings Esports is also the first League of Legends player in Vietnam to receive this honor.

With this new role, SofM is expected to become a bridge to elevate Vietnamese Esports in general and Vietnamese League of Legends in particular to new heights. He will also represent the development of Esports in the S-shaped country. Over the years, Vietnamese Esports and the teams representing VCS have achieved many remarkable accomplishments. SofM himself has played a significant role in introducing the VCS to the international audience, being the only Vietnamese player so far to reach the finals of the World Championship.

SofM Helps VCS Community “Dream of Being Like LCK”
SofM’s appointment as a Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Recreational Esports Association also shows that the government is paying a certain level of attention to Esports, especially League of Legends. Some opinions even suggest: “Currently, it is at the Association level; if it can develop into the Vietnam Esports Federation like KeSPA of LCK in the future, that would be fantastic.” This is likely the wish of the Vietnamese Esports community in general and League of Legends in particular.

With the presence of SofM, one of the brightest stars in the Vietnamese Esports scene in general and VCS in particular, we can fully expect a brighter future for our national Esports. His extensive experience and significant influence will be a tremendous motivation for this industry to reach even further.
