At this moment, most of the biggest League of Legends tournaments are gearing up to start, with the Western LEC and LCS kicking off this weekend, and the LPL already having seen its first matches. Meanwhile, the LCK Summer 2020 is starting later, as fans will have to wait until next Wednesday, June 17, to witness the top teams from Korea compete.

As expected, predictions about rankings and the names competing for this year’s LCK title have sparked quite a few differing opinions. Even top figures from teams, such as T1’s CEO – Joe Marsh – have joined in this “fortune-telling” and shared his thoughts on the outcome of LCK Summer. Of course, he will predict T1 to be the champion, but the fact that he places Gen.G so low is what catches people’s attention.

T1 CEO – Joe Marsh: “My prediction before LCK Summer starts:
1. T1
2. Damwon Gaming
3. DragonX
4. Generation Gaming (Gen.G)
5. Hanwha Life Esports
6. KT Rolster
7. Afreeca Freecs
8. APK Prince
9. Sandbox Gaming
10. Team Dynamic”.
We can see that T1’s “big boss” holds Damwon Gaming and DragonX in high regard. Both teams have stable rosters and have not undergone significant changes, so their strength should be quite similar to the spring split. The higher evaluation of Damwon Gaming likely stems from the fact that the team has a lineup of young, skilled players, particularly ShowMaker, who has achieved the top rank in Korean Solo Queue.

Regarding T1’s biggest rival, Gen.G, after their swift 3-0 defeat in the spring split, the CEO of this team may no longer hold them in high regard, placing Ruler and his teammates only in the top 4. To be fair, Gen.G doesn’t deserve to be rated this low; if they maintain their performance from the LCK spring, they should also make it to the top 2 of the tournament after the group stage, thus securing a position in the top 3. Perhaps T1’s “boss” is just making a light jab before the tournament?

LCK Summer 2020 will kick off on June 17, with the opening match being a clash between Afreeca Freecs and Sandbox Gaming; however, the highlight match on opening day will occur later at 6:00 PM between DragonX and T1. We hope that Faker and his teammates will have a strong start to realize their goal of adding another LCK title.
