The group draw ceremony for Worlds 2021 has concluded, and the lists of groups for this year’s tournament have been established. Following the draw, there have been quite a few mixed opinions surrounding the results. Many are excited about the interesting matchups right from the group stage, such as the matches between DK vs FPX, or EDG vs T1.
However, there are also many who express their dismay, “mourning” for the teams that were randomly placed in an extremely difficult group, “no hope”, specifically here referring to Rogue. The third seed from the LEC has landed in Group A alongside two giants, DWG KIA and FunPlus Phoenix.

It’s needless to say, for RGE to advance past this stage would be akin to a massive earthquake, with a very slim chance of becoming a reality. And the one who created this “highlight” is none other than Jankos – the player from the team that should-not-go-to-Worlds, G2 Esports, and a guest at this year’s draw ceremony.
Right after the Group A situation was set, the European League of Legends community immediately bestowed upon Jankos the title of “bad luck hand”, for placing one of the three European representatives right into the group of death. Even Odoamne – the top laner of Rogue and Jankos’ former teammate from their time at H2K, directly criticized him for being the cause of his friends’ misfortune.

In reality, theoretically, Rogue does have a chance to advance, as European teams have always been known for creating upsets at international tournaments. But clearly, even the most optimistic fans can’t think of a beautiful scenario where RGE could overcome the two giants DK and FPX – the most recent world champions who are currently exhibiting a devastating form.
