Draven
After receiving quite a few adjustments recently, Draven has become much stronger and is no longer overly reliant on the VIP form. Specifically, in the recent 12.5 patch, Draven received 2 very important buffs: an attack range increase to 4 squares and an additional 25% armor penetration when in normal form. This allows Draven to deal damage very effectively while standing in the backline and no longer worries about being hit by unfavorable crowd control effects due to the previous 3-square attack range.

Besides Draven himself, the composition revolving around this champion also features quite a few 3-4 gold champions. Therefore, “rolling” for VIP Draven at levels 7-8 is relatively easy and doesn’t cost too much gold. With the preference for flexible compositions among Challenger players, Draven and his allies are an excellent choice. A tip when playing this composition is to have a Trap Claw in the backline to maximize protection for Draven.
Warwick – Challenger
After a series of nerfs to 2-cost reroll compositions, Warwick has emerged as a new powerhouse in Teamfight Tactics. The strength of this composition lies in its snowballing ability during fights, making Challenger units very hard to stop in the mid-game. Especially with Warwick’s ability to deal damage based on percentage health, this composition possesses immense power from the early to the late game.

However, despite its power, advice from high-ranked players is that you should only use this composition when Warwick is not heavily contested. Essentially, Warwick – Challenger is still a reroll composition and needs to level up the carry to 3 stars as soon as possible. Competition for Warwick will slow down the power threshold of this composition significantly, making it unable to dominate opponents. Therefore, you need to carefully observe other opponents at level 6 before deciding to build this composition.
Irelia “Super Idol”
In fact, the composition centered around a single carry from the Idol system is not a new strategy. In the first half of season 6, units like Kai’Sa, Viktor, and Akali were all previously made “Super Idol” with the Idol slot. However, the unique advantage of Irelia as a super Idol is that the carry only costs 4 gold, which allows the power threshold of this composition to be reached very early (possibly at level 7) and helps you dominate the game.

Furthermore, in season 6.5 there will be 2 Idol units costing 3 gold, so this composition has even more opportunities to reach a high power threshold right from level 7. Therefore, you should pause at level 7 to roll in order to upgrade the existing 3 gold units and search for Irelia. If you are lucky enough, you may dominate the game right from the mid-game and gain a significant advantage later on to secure a top 1 position.
