To reach top 4, find all 6 Rebels; to reach top 1, you must have Gangplank
It seems that after the mid-season update, Gangplank’s position not only decreased but increased significantly. In fact, it has greatly enhanced the power of the 6 Rebels composition; if you have the right units and items, it can even be stronger than the currently dominant compositions like Marksman – Astronaut or Vanguard – Mystic.

The reason Gangplank synergizes well with Rebels is partly due to activating the Demolitionist trait when combined with Ziggs. More importantly, Gangplank’s area damage capability helps units that primarily deal single-target damage, like Jinx, Master Yi, and Zed from the Rebel composition, clear the battlefield much more effectively. If you’re unlucky and can’t find Gangplank, securing a top 4 position is still acceptable.

Zed > Yasuo
Essentially, the Rebel composition highly requires level 8 to have Aurelion Sol and Gangplank to achieve maximum damage. On the other hand, 1-2 cost units like Ziggs, Malphite, Zed, and Yasuo will have a hard time reaching 3 stars; if they want to be in the final composition, they must provide some benefit to your team. In this case, Yasuo is the least valuable as the game progresses.

While Ziggs activates the Demolitionist trait, Malphite can tank, and Zed can reduce enemy champion damage in the late game, Yasuo has almost no significance at all. Given the nature of Rebel units, Yasuo often has to stand in the front line, and with a unit that can’t be stacked with items, it’s tough to survive for long. Therefore, our advice when building the Rebel composition is not to use Yasuo in your final team.
Infinity Edge and Blue Buff are essential for Jinx
Not only Jhin, but the Infinity Edge + Blue Buff combo also works exceptionally well with Jinx, even more so than with that Marksman. When using Jinx, you always want her to eliminate opponents as quickly as possible to activate her passive. This combo provides Jinx with everything she needs: a bit of damage, attack speed, continuous critical hits, armor penetration, and making the frontline of opponents much weaker.

Moreover, this is a crucial combo for eliminating the most “cancerous” units currently, such as Aurelion Sol – Protector, Urgot, thus ensuring a high position at the end of the match. Besides these two items, the third item for Jinx should be a defensive item; Quicksilver or Guardian Angel are worth considering.
If facing many Marksmen, add Ekko
With Zed added to the composition, you will have more options to adjust your team to counter your opponents in each match. Marksmen with various variations are currently very strong, so it’s common to see 2-3 players using this composition. If you find yourself in this situation, add Ekko to activate the Scout trait, increasing damage to the opponent’s backline.

The characteristic of Marksman compositions is that players often place the backline and frontline quite far apart, creating a large gap in the middle of the battlefield. If you have a strong enough frontline, Zed and Ekko can take out 1-2 backline units, not to mention these units will distract the enemy, giving more time for your key units like Gangplank and Aurelion Sol to last longer and cast their abilities more easily.
