3 Powerful Traits in Theory but Weak in Practice in Teamfight Tactics

The advice is not to choose the following traits when playing Teamfight Tactics.

Dragonblade Emblem

Since the Teamfight Tactics patch 12.14b was released, Dragonblade is asserting its position as Sett is a very strong carry in the early game while Shyvana is incredibly powerful in the late game. However, there is a rather paradoxical thing that even the top players who specialize in Dragonblade compositions never take this trait’s emblem. The reason is that the Dragonblade Emblem significantly reduces the power of the champion who possesses it, preventing them from maximizing their potential.

If you didn’t know, Dragonblade champions do not gain rage when attacked, so if you equip this emblem to a typical tank champion, they will cast their abilities very slowly. As a result, your champions, which were once very strong, suddenly become significantly weaker due to this emblem. Even for backline carries, very few champions are suitable for the Dragonblade Emblem. Therefore, if you are not in a hurry to play the Dragonblade level 9, it is best not to take this trait.

Storm Eye

In theory, this emblem would help a carry champion in your composition receive a lot of skill damage and can “carry the team”. In return, that champion must stand at the center of the battlefield, which is the main reason why the Storm Eye emblem is relatively weak at the moment. The reason is that you have to fix the position of your carry and make it too easy for opponents to counter that character.

First, there are counter items like Infinity Edge, and Silent Cloak. Once the opponent has identified where your carry is, using those items accurately becomes quite easy. Moreover, having to stand at the front means your carry will face strong tanks with lots of armor, magic resist, and are not easy to take down. Therefore, the advice is not to use this emblem regardless of how strong your Dragonblade composition is.

Risky Investment

If you don’t know, the Risky Investment emblem is a unique upgrade for the Dragonkin trait. Its effect is that if you change the shop and buy experience in the same round, Dragonkin champions will deal an additional 40% damage in the next round. At first glance, this emblem seems like a very strong upgrade because a 40% damage increase is a significant number; however, in practice, Risky Investment is chosen very rarely because it is too weak.

For pure tank champions like Idas, 40% damage doesn't mean much

The first reason for this situation is the extremely unreasonable activation condition. You almost never buy experience and switch shops in the same round while holding gold to strengthen Dragonkin items. Furthermore, if you cannot upgrade the champions in your composition, then the aforementioned 40% damage does not have much effect, and players will still lose the match. Therefore, the Risky Investment emblem has very low practical value, and you should not take it.
