The SEA Games 31 qualifiers for League of Legends have reached the second round after two days of surprising matches. First and foremost, we must mention the “earthquake” created by SBTC Esports when facing GAM Esports. Not only did SE achieve their first victory against the yellow-black team in an official match, but they also won 2-0, showcasing a completely different performance compared to their stint in the VCS Spring 2022 or during the first qualifying round of SEA Games 31.

Moving on to the second day of competition, the SEA Games 31 qualifiers for League of Legends continued to witness surprises. First, in what can be considered the highlight match between two teams from the top 4 of VCS Winter 2021 – Burst The Sky Esports and Luxury Esports. Having been dominated by LX from VCS Winter until the first qualifiers of the SEA Games, SKY was certainly seen as the underdog against their opponents.
However, in a dazzling performance, SKY reclaimed both their capital and profits against LX with a 2-0 victory. Notably, Gloryy – SKY’s mid-laner set a record for minion score in game 2, reaching an impressive 269 minions at the 20-minute mark while playing Ryze. The high performance of Gloryy along with Aomine significantly contributed to SKY’s victory over LX.

In the following match, Saigon Buffalo also achieved a 2-0 victory against Team Secret. Once again, Froggy’s undefeated Veigar was utilized in the decisive game 2. With this “favorite” champion Veigar, SGB turned the reunion day for Arrietty’s former team into a sad story, despite the fact that the former SGB star performed decently.

Thus, on the second day of the second round of SEA Games 31 qualifiers for League of Legends, surprises emerged from the match between LX and SKY. Meanwhile, Froggy’s Veigar has yet to be stopped in his winning streak, and will certainly give SGB’s future opponents a headache in finding ways to counter him.
