Xiaohu’s achievements are on par with Faker and Impact
Just a few days ago, Xiaohu and Weibo Gaming defeated another strong name from the LPL, JD Gaming, in the final match of the LPL Summer 2024 regional qualifiers for the fourth seed for China’s League of Legends at the upcoming World Championship. Across all 5 games, WBG demonstrated that they deserved to go to London more than Ruler and his teammates. Xiaohu’s team played much more cohesively compared to Ruler’s “one-man army”. At the same time, this achievement also places Xiaohu on equal footing with Faker and Impact – two veterans of the League of Legends scene.

With this continued opportunity to compete at Worlds 2024 with WBG, Xiaohu has now achieved 8 appearances in the history of this tournament. Before Xiaohu, only Faker and Impact had reached 8 Worlds. However, Faker has not attended 4 consecutive Worlds like Xiaohu. Additionally, this achievement of Xiaohu does not include Faker’s attendance at this year’s Worlds.

Xiaohu is also a long-standing rival of Faker
At this point, Xiaohu and Faker are not only the Mid Laners with the most Worlds appearances, but they also have quite similar careers and are long-standing rivals. Xiaohu is also one of the iconic Mid Laners of the LPL before Knight truly stepped into the spotlight. Additionally, Xiaohu is a player who can play many different champion matchups. He even transitioned to Top Lane and achieved success in his career.

Notably, Xiaohu and his teammates from Royal Never Give Up were the ones who “shut down” T1’s unbeaten roster during the controversial MSI 2022 tournament. It can be said that T1 was very close to winning the MSI championship that year, and RNG was not highly regarded. However, in this important international tournament, T1 could not defeat RNG, and Faker missed the chance to reclaim the MSI title from Xiaohu’s RNG. Recently, at Worlds 2023, Xiaohu and his WBG teammates were the ones who “set the stage” for T1’s thrilling and dramatic journey to become the League of Legends champions.

Faker and Xiaohu are both top-tier Mid Laners today. However, given that the audience is too focused on Knight and Chovy, many may have forgotten that the pairing of Xiaohu and Faker is still present and ready for any opponents who underestimate them to “regret it”.
