Before facing Bilibili Gaming (BLG), Weibo Gaming (WBG) had a streak of 3 consecutive victories. This placed them in a leading position in the LPL Summer 2023 standings. Furthermore, their recent good performances gave fans confidence that TheShy and his teammates would defeat BLG in the upcoming match.

However, when entering the match against BLG, WBG showed a complete lack of competitiveness compared to the MSI 2023 runner-up. After a good first game, WBG clearly struggled in the next two games and allowed their opponent to win with a score of 2-1 overall. This defeat caused WBG to drop to sixth place in the tournament standings.
After the match, TheShy became the center of mixed opinions as he did not perform well. “Even as a fan of TheShy, I have to admit he played terribly in this match. The Kennen in TheShy’s hands didn’t create any pressure at all. He should leave WBG and find another place to ‘retire’ like Ning did,” shared an upset fan.

To be fair, TheShy did have a relatively good use of Kennen’s Lightning Storm early in the game, helping WBG win a team fight. However, aside from that play, TheShy did not create any positive impact on the game. In fact, his Teleport situation without using the ultimate at the end of the game completely led to WBG’s failure.

Fortunately for WBG, in the upcoming week of matches, they will only face weaker opponents like FunPlus Phoenix and Ninja in Pyjamas. This is an opportunity for WBG to regain their winning streak to improve their position in the standings. Hopefully, TheShy will take advantage of these matches to improve his performance and regain the trust of the fans.
