VKE’s Sad Performance and VCS in the History of Worlds
Thus, failing to meet the expectations of VCS fans as well as their “brother” GAM Esports, Vikings Esports lost 0-2 to PaiN Gaming – an opponent from CBLOL in the wildcards group and exited Worlds 2024 with two consecutive losses. Even high expectations for players like Kati and Bie did not help VKE secure even a single honorable win.
This not only left VKE exiting the tournament in bitterness but also brought a “sad record” for VCS: For the first time since VCS began participating in international competitions, a representative of Vietnamese League of Legends exited Worlds without winning a single game.

Specifically, from 2017 until now, every time participating in Worlds, VCS teams have left some impression and secured at least one game win or even a series win. Even GAM, in their lowest phase of disappointment, managed to eliminate Top Esports after the group stage of Worlds 2022. However, the roster expected to contain surprises and breakthroughs under SofM’s leadership turned out to be the most disappointing team to date.

VKE Player Rated Lowest After Final Match at Worlds 2024
Perhaps after the match between VKE and PNG concluded, and VKE’s journey at Worlds 2024 “fell apart midway,” everyone could guess who would be the player rated the lowest. Specifically, according to HUPU, Kati was the worst performing player for VKE in the entire match, receiving a score of 2.3. Additionally, two other VKE players, Gury (2.4) and Nanaue (2.5), were rated similarly low as Kati.

It can be said that the former GAM star failed to create any surprises, and truly, no one can explain why such an experienced player like Kati could make continuous basic mistakes in a match like this. Perhaps, similar to the defeat against R7 at MSI some years ago, this sad record with VKE may leave another scar on Kati’s mind until he retires from being a player.
