Recently, the Vietnamese League of Legends (LoL) Vietnam national team faced off against the LoL team from Chinese Taipei. This match was crucial for the home team, as all they needed to do was overcome a rival that was not considered overly superior to secure a medal. Moreover, the Vietnamese roster includes players who have previously achieved great victories over Top Esports (TES). With a relaxed mindset, many fans also placed their trust in the Vietnamese LoL team to create a miracle.

However, the skill gap between the two teams was indeed quite significant. The Chinese Taipei roster, with 4 out of 6 players from the LPL, proved to be far “outclassing” the stars of VCS. Even players like Levi and Kiaya appeared to be significantly outmatched by their opponents. Therefore, it was not surprising that Chinese Taipei needed only about an hour to completely defeat the Vietnamese representatives. Both games showcased dominance and one-sided gameplay from Karsa and his teammates.

However, contrary to usual expectations, most fans on the VCS community forums displayed an extremely positive attitude. In fact, many opinions suggest that the players genuinely put in their best effort. Furthermore, this tournament aimed to provide Vietnamese players with a chance to gain experience. Not to mention, players like Gloryy and Artemis were experiencing the international atmosphere for the first time. Artemis had some impressive moments, while Gloryy faced a certain level of psychological pressure.

It can be said that the LoL team made a commendable effort to fulfill their mission at ASIAD. Therefore, it is almost certain that there will not be too many negative responses directed towards the players. Not to mention, there will soon be a World Championship (Worlds) 2023. This will be the next international stage where Vietnamese players need to exert their utmost effort to achieve good results, especially after the forgettable outcomes at MSI 2023.
