T1 Loses an Achievement Maintained Since 2019 at the World Championship
Although it was only the Quarterfinals, what T1 has demonstrated since the beginning of the 2025 World Championship season, or even further back to the playoffs stage of LCK 2025, shows that AL is truly not an easy opponent to “bully.” AL is also the only LPL representative that has defeated both LCK teams Gen.G and HLE before. Thus, T1’s victory, while hard-fought, was filled with emotions. However, T1 has lost an achievement that they had maintained since 2019.

Specifically, from 2019 until now, whenever T1 participates in the World Championship, they have always reached at least the Semifinals, and in the Quarterfinals, no team has managed to take even a single game win against Faker and his teammates. However, the 3-2 victory over AL has caused T1 to lose this record. For the first time in six years, AL is the team in the Quarterfinals of the World Championship that has been able to break T1’s Nexus, and the LPL representative has done this twice.

However, T1 Has Another Record
Nevertheless, by continuing to reach the Semifinals at the 2025 World Championship, T1 not only maintains hope of competing for the biggest international title of the year in the LoL scene but also upholds the achievement: every participation in the World Championship guarantees them at least a top 4 finish. The first goal has been achieved. Notably, Faker is also the first and only player in the LoL scene to reach the Semifinals in every World Championship he has attended – a feat that no one has accomplished up until now and may remain unmatched in the future.

Of course, T1 still has TES ahead of them before reaching the finals. But the positive psychological foundation will likely help Faker and his teammates to have hope for a successful tournament on Chinese soil.
