However, there have been some issues that have arisen, specifically from the tournament’s operational management, which fans have recently “spotted.”
Accordingly, in the announcement of the match schedule for the last week of June 2024 within the framework of the VCS Summer 2024 group stage, Team Whales will again face Vikings Esports. Notably, TW will play a total of 4 matches over 2 weeks. However, 2 of those matches are against VKE. Recently, the “Whales” faced defeat against SofM’s squad. Many fans are understandably concerned that meeting VKE again at this time could further sink TW into crisis. But first, this reflects the illogical nature of the current scheduling arrangement.
Many opinions have been raised regarding this somewhat illogical scheduling. The fact is, even for strong regions with numerous matches like the LPL and LEC, it is almost unheard of for two teams to meet in such rapid succession. Furthermore, VCS Summer 2024 has only reduced one team. This certainly cannot justify a team’s schedule rotating as quickly as in the case of TW.
However, the organizers of VCS and Riot have yet to make any announcements regarding this matter. But if TW has to face VKE early as it stands, the likelihood of TW continuing to face another defeat is high, especially when the VKE players are in extremely high form and are being evaluated as very capable of dethroning GAM to become the new champion of VCS this season.
