It has been a long time, specifically since the COVID-19 pandemic hit hard in Vietnam, that the VCS has not seen any audience present at regional matches. Even after the tournament resumed, the VCS organizers did not sell tickets, and the audience could only watch through Viewing Parties or the tournament’s broadcast channels as well as those of authorized KOLs and casters. Nevertheless, many people are still looking forward to a truly grand arena, especially since Riot officially took over and restarted the tournament at the beginning of 2023. However, as of now, everything remains just teaser images.

But in VCS Summer 2024, the audience will return to the vibrant atmosphere that VCS matches once brought. According to the latest announcement from the tournament organizers, the VCS Summer Finals 2024 will be held at Nguyen Du Stadium, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, with a capacity of 2000 spectators on August 17 – 18. This will be the first time in over 4 years that a VCS match welcomes live audiences to enjoy the match in person with the players.

In response to the information from the VCS organizers, the VCS community cannot help but be excited. Many prominent figures such as MC Minh Nghi and MC Mai Dora reminisce about the vibrant atmosphere of the old days. Many audience comments also express enthusiasm but also concern that the 2000 tickets might be gone in a flash.

However, there are still scattered opinions that feel disappointed that it’s not a true stadium of its own for VCS but just a rented venue to host the event. Nevertheless, looking at the positive side, this could be a “scouting” move for a new stadium that may debut possibly in the next season.

More importantly, the audience will get to experience the vibrant atmosphere of the old days. And the players themselves will be welcomed by the audience, able to enjoy the passionate atmosphere – something they have longed for a very long time.
