Does JDG Have Internal Issues?
At the start of the 2024 season, no one could have predicted that JD Gaming would plummet so drastically, despite parting ways with Mid Laner Knight and Top Laner 369. The reason being, apart from Knight and 369, the rest of JDG’s roster remained unchanged. However, even the key players from last season, who were considered the “carry” factors, have now been struggling significantly. Even players like Kanavi and Ruler, who were seen as stable performers, seem to have lost their touch. Currently, this team is facing immense difficulty in securing a spot at Worlds 2024, after missing out on title contention in Spring 2024 and MSI 2024.

What LPL Fans Are Saying About JDG’s Issues
According to LPL fans, Ruler and Kanavi’s playstyles do not complement each other. Ruler is the type of ADC who needs space to perform at his best (and he can do that). However, Kanavi is not the type of Jungler who plays for his teammates. Moreover, the current meta revolves around Mid Lane ADCs, which makes Kanavi’s job even harder. Not to mention that Sheer, the young player from JDG, seems to be overwhelmed wearing the MSI 2023 champion’s jersey. Sheer has not been able to secure a win against players like 369 or Bin. If this continues, JDG will struggle to compete with BLG or TES.
Furthermore, other teams have thoroughly studied JDG, making the hopes of Chinese League of Legends even more challenging. Poor performance results have only heightened internal conflicts. JDG now faces possible clashes over whether to use Flandre or continue trusting Sheer in the upcoming critical phase.

JDG is facing significant difficulties, and no one can predict how this team will resolve its issues. However, one thing is clear: if they do not stabilize their roster and regain necessary form soon, JDG may have to watch Worlds from home and face the risk of disbanding before the 2025 season.
