TSW’s Victory Sparks Debate in the VCS Community
Recently, during the LCP Mid Season 2025, Team SecretWhales surprised both the domestic and international League of Legends communities with a dramatic 2-1 victory over TALON. Notably, TLN is one of the two teams that reached the finals of the LCP 2025 early season. This is also the team that defeated all VCS teams at that time. However, alongside the excitement of TSW’s victory, many VCS viewers are also debating this achievement.

This is not TSW’s first victory against a team from the PCS region. Earlier this year, TSW lost to TLN but managed to defeat CBTC Flying Oyster – an opponent that is even stronger than TLN and made Western teams sweat with their unpredictable playstyle based on players returning from the LPL. Although TLN is weaker, they were the ones who defeated TSW last time.
The reason VCS viewers are debating is that TSW’s victory over a team from Taiwan (China) is not a new occurrence. TSW always has an unpredictable playstyle with unusual picks from highly skilled players like Hiro02 and Taki. However, they can also disappoint VCS viewers when facing more familiar names that are even weaker than TLN or CFO from the VCS.

Fans Hope VCS Can Achieve More Than Just Surprising Wins
TSW’s victory is certainly significant, just like every victory for VCS teams on the international stage. However, since first stepping into MSI or Worlds, VCS teams have only managed to create surprises and set goals that are almost as low as possible. With a League of Legends scene renowned for its passionate player base and audience, VCS fans have the right to expect more from their representatives in Vietnamese League of Legends.

However, so far, no name has been able to break through, even GAM Esports, and TSW’s victories bring joy to the audience but also leave many regrets.
