Keria Affirms T1 Will Return in the New Patch
On May 4th, T1 achieved a relatively easy victory against KT in the “telecommunication showdown” of the first round of the LCK Regular Season. Alongside T1’s excellence, this match also highlighted that KT is facing numerous issues ranging from laning phase, team fight execution to map control. Perhaps due to this reason, KT is experiencing a serious crisis and has fallen to the second last position in the tournament standings.

As for T1, they have been demonstrating high performance since Gumayusi returned to the main AD Carry position. Not stopping there, T1’s star Support – Keria recently expressed great confidence in his team’s future success when asked about the League of Legends meta following the update of the Ionia theme season. According to Keria, the meta of the new season will revolve around dragon control and requires a strong laning duo of AD Carry and Support, which is a strength of T1.

“I have researched the upcoming new version of the Ionia theme season and feel that it seems very suitable for T1. This could be a season with a meta focused on dragon control and requiring a strong laning duo of AD Carry and Support to realize this. Meanwhile, my and Gumayusi’s laning abilities are in extremely good shape both in scrims and official matches. I am very happy because the current strength of the team has improved significantly, as long as we maintain this, T1 will come back even stronger in the future,” Keria confidently shared after the victory against KT.

T1 Slowly Returns to the Championship Race in LCK
Looking at the changes in patch 25.9 (Ionia theme season update), the Void Abyss goal, while buffed, has significantly reduced in importance. This is due to the fact that the Void Abyss will no longer reappear and the major objectives during the time frame from minute 8 to 15 (before the Rift Herald appears) are only Elemental Dragons. This helps teams controlling dragons gain a significant advantage to snowball the game. Of course, to achieve this, the bot lane duo will need to create advantages from the laning phase.

Coincidentally, this is also T1’s strong point as the duo Gumayusi and Keria have shown great dominance in recent matches. Moreover, T1’s upcoming schedule seems quite “manageable” as they are set to face teams considered weaker such as DRX, DK, and BRO. If they win all these matches, T1 will accumulate a significant amount of points and put considerable pressure on the two teams leading the table, Gen.G and HLE. Hopefully, with Riot’s covert “assistance,” T1 will maintain their current high performance and soon return to the championship race in the LCK.
