Yordles
Since the launch of Teamfight Tactics season 6.5, we have seen that Riot is doing everything possible to make Yordles stronger and escape the role of merely improving gold. However, the issue with Yordles that Riot Games has yet to resolve is that the 6-unit threshold does not grant champions significant power immediately. A 25% reduction in ability energy cost is too little, while the time to acquire Veigar (which can be 3-star) is too long, making players vulnerable before their composition is complete.

However, with the reduction of up to 30% in ability energy cost at the 6-unit threshold, Yordles have become much stronger. In fact, according to statistics from the Metatft.com site, 6 Yordles is the composition that improves average positioning the best. With such a large reduction in energy cost, players can confidently build full attack items for Corki and Gnar to maximize their damage. Energy items can be converted to create the Power Chalice for better buffs.
Gang
Alongside Yordles, the Gang composition has also received significant attention from Riot in season 6.5. First, the removal of Assassin units and the continuous buffing of new carry champions like Ashe and Ahri have occurred. Coincidentally, in the recently updated patch 12.7, Riot has buffed the damage for both Ahri and Ashe, making them extremely powerful carries at the moment. As a result, various iterations of the Gang team quickly made it to the top of the meta.

Of course, in actual matches, it’s difficult to have enough items to build both Ahri and Ashe as carries in the same team. Therefore, you should only choose one of these units to stack items on, depending on whether players have more physical damage items (Ashe) or magic damage items (Ahri). For a composition centered around Ashe, a slow roll playstyle at level 6 will be the most suitable to push this unit to 3-star. Meanwhile, a slow playstyle will suit Ahri better, allowing players to have 2-star 4-cost units.
Mages
In fact, Mages in patch 12.7 have not been buffed in terms of the champions themselves or the technology cores that this team comp uses. The Mage composition has become stronger rapidly simply because it fits the meta, and many counter compositions have been nerfed. One of the most fearsome names against the Mage composition, Talon, continues to be nerfed in defensive stats, while another counter, Warwick – Challenger, has also weakened since the previous patch.

One notable aspect of the Mage composition in the current meta is that you will only stop at 4 units, even using Syndra as the carry rather than units from this trait. The reason is that players have discovered that Syndra is a very strong damage dealer in the mid-game against Assassin players. Furthermore, the 4 Mage effect will significantly buff Syndra’s damage, allowing this unit to comfortably “carry the team”.
